How can I help you in 2018?


It's scary to think that by 2020 it is estimated that half of all Americans will suffer from a preventable, chronic disease. The United States alone spends over $2.5 trillion every year on healthcare, with a large portion of that money coming from employers’ pockets for employee health insurance, medical leave, and sick days.

Chronic stress, poor dietary habits, and lack of exercise all significantly contribute to ill health. Luckily, many of these costly, chronic ailments can be avoided with simple, preventative care.

Sometimes I get asked the question, what do you do? And I answer, "I'm a health coach." Then I get asked, "What is a health coach?"

My short answer to that is if you are at a point in your life, where you feel you should have more energy, or maybe lose some weight or you feel sad because you're at that point in your life you should be doing the things you want, yet you can't find the time or courage to make a change, the quickest way to make a lasting change and get out of your own way, is having a support system in place. That's where my services come in. You tap into my personal knowledge, education and experience.

By working with me, you will learn how to make better food and lifestyle choices, while improving your physical and mental well-being. My goal is to help you unravel the issues in your life that are holding you back, and to empower you to have the confidence to make changes, if what you're doing right now isn't working.

Do you want to decrease your doctor's visits? More and more healthcare professionals are relying on health coaches to fill the gap between the doctor and patient. As healthcare costs rise, a health coach can step in and help you make necessary lifestyle changes that can impact your health in a major way.

The information I present to you below will help you understand exactly how working with me can benefit your overall health. It is my goal to empower you to make lasting lifestyle changes, from weight management to overall wellness. Below are ways in which we can work together to achieve your goals.

  • I look at all areas of life in addition to eating habits. As a health coach, I work differently from a nutritionist or a dietitian. I don’t just give you a list of foods or specific diet recommendations, rather, I take it a step further by talking about your “primary foods.” Primary foods relate to your environment, including career, finances, physical activity, relationships, home environment, social life, spirituality, home cooking, etc. I survey areas where you struggle. Are you stressed out by a demanding schedule? Are you in an unhappy relationship? Do you feel as if you are burning the candle at both ends, trying to keep up? Are you not taking time to self-nurture? I help you get to the root cause of your health issue. I take a holistic approach, and understand the emotional, physical, behavioral and nutritional lifestyle factors that are needed to enhance overall health and wellbeing. When I did this, my health dramatically improved.

  • Guide, mentor and empower you to take responsibility for your health and support you in making sustainable lifestyle choices. I do not prescribe one diet or one way of living. Rather, I help you develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for your body. Some common areas where I can assist you include weight management, food cravings, sleep, energy, digestion, stress, and time management.

  • Establish trust and connection: I create a “safe” place to open and share your thoughts, worries, concerns, etc. It is my goal to establish trust through open communication and active listening, without casting judgment.

  • Hold you accountable in a supportive way: I will help you establish short- and long-term goals that are continually revisited to keep track of progress. I will help you gain clarity on ideas and ambitions and guide you towards achieving them into reality.

  • Establish awareness around perception and self-talk. I help you retrain your brain to a more positive place. I work with you to establish positive self-talk (the things we tell ourselves) by identifying limiting beliefs. By becoming aware of situations where negative self-talk occurs, you can change direction towards a more empowered state.

  • Teach you to become your own health advocate: The goal for me, as a health coach, is to help you to become your own health advocate and to understand your body’s messages. Intuition is a key factor in health, and I will show you how to use this important gift.

  • Make it a lifestyle: When you work with me, you’ll gain a new awareness around areas of your life where you previously felt stuck. You’ll feel excited to put into action all the tools and information you have learned. You won’t feel the need to succumb to the next fad diet. You will have the knowledge, confidence and self-awareness to fuel your body with nutrient-dense foods.

All the lifestyle changes noted above, will help you to understand that when we can become present to what is not working and shift that awareness to find what is working, transformation takes place. We inherently want to take care of ourselves, feed our body with whole foods nutrition, take time to rest and restore, and allow more joy into our life.
